Sitio do Ouro

Sitio do Ouro has been producing coffee for over 50 years, in the township of Manhumirim, Minas Gerais. The property produces distinguished high cupping coffees. It is also known for its vast untouched forests reserves and wildlife which can be seen roaming the coffee fields throughout the day and night.

 João has been with Minas Coffee for over 8 years, after having left the industry early in his 20s to pursue opportunities in construction João returned to coffee in 2010 and has been a valuable asset to the development of construction projects and environmental sustainability.

VARIETALS & PROCESSES

HARVESTING

All harvesting is done manually by expert pickers using selective harvesting followed by strip harvesting, this increases uniformity of harvesting maturity and greater consistency. 

DRYING

All our coffees are dried over the period of 30 days or until 11% moisture is reached, the process is closely monitored to ensure that the coffee isn't exposed to excess temperatures or humidity to ensure a quality drying process. 

MILLING

All milling is done onsite, under the supervision of farm managers to ensure traceability and processes are being followed as per Minas Coffee standards.
