Sitio do Prata
Sitio do Prata is located in the small town of Caputira, in the mesoregion of Zona da Mata South of Minas Gerais, the elevation is 700m-850m and receives over 1600mm of rain annually. The gentle slopes of Sitio do Prata produce distinct coffees of unique bodies.
Locally Run
Since our purchase of Sitio do Prata in 2008, we have provided employment on a year-round basis to 5 farmers and their families, providing a range of benefits such as accommodation, health insurance and above industry wages, our farmers quality of life has been vital to Minas Coffees success.
With the success of our local labour program, Sitio do Prata is now part of the locally run program and farming initiative.

VARIETALS & PROCESSES
HARVESTING
All harvesting is done manually by expert pickers between June and July, using selective harvesting followed by strip harvesting, this increases uniformity of harvesting maturity and greater consistency.
DRYING
All our coffees are dried over the period of 30 days or until 11% moisture is reached, the process is closely monitored to ensure that the coffee isn't exposed to excess temperatures or humidity to ensure a quality drying process.
MILLING
All milling is done onsite, under the supervision of farm managers to ensure traceability and processes are being followed as per Minas Coffee standards.
